The head of real estate and construction of Maxima Legal, Mr Evgeny Druzhinin, clarifies to the Kommersant reporter the situation with the GM factory in Saint Petersburg. GM tries to refund part of taxes paid by it on the grounds of adjustment of cadastral value of its land plot.

Ms. Yelena Kilinkarova, the head of taxes of Maxima Legal, authored a textbook “Foreign Tax Laws”.

The book published by the Yurait is tailored for baccalaureate and magistracy students, postgraduates and employees of tax, financial and customs bodies, judges, employees of international organizations and institutions, practicing lawyers and all those interested in foreign tax laws.  

In the textbook there are considered the principal issues constituting the subject of foreign tax laws on the basis of foreign laws, enforcement practice and foreign and Russian law books. Being supported by the comparative legal methodology the author explores tax law sources, tax systems, legal status of subjects in tax related legal relationships, performance of  tax liability, fundamentals of tax control and transfer pricing,  provides for general description of liability for breach of tax laws.

The book is already available in central book stores in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

Last month Maxima Legal and the open joint stock company Russian Railways (the main railroad operator in Russia, one of the three world largest transport companies) signed a cooperation agreement.

Using their professional skills and public private partnership experience Maxima Legal lawyers will advise OAO RZD in course of the implementation of large scale investment projects involving PPP.

On 26-27 June 2014 Mr. Vladimir Kilinkarov, a partner of Maxima Legal took part in Russian-Dutch business meeting under the aegis of the V International Economic Forum in Tula.

The event organized by the Administration of the Tula Region together with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation focused on the cooperation between the two countries in the area of investment and economy.

Vladimir was invited by the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of the Netherlands to act as an expert dealing with legal support of business in Russia. He spotlighted the topical issues of corporate, tax, customs, labor and immigration laws effective in Russia and reported about the most recent changes to regional laws.

During his visit Vladimir held a number of bilateral meetings with members of the Dutch delegation and representatives of the Administration of the Tula Region in order to discuss opportunities for cooperation.
