“Construction Weekly”, the weekly newspaper devoted to investment in real estate in St. Petersburg, published the key points from the speech of Evgeny Druzhinin, Head of Maxima Legal’s Real Estate and Construction Department, at the conference “Investment in Real Estate: In Search of Domestic Reserves” (Issue No. 650 of 13.04.2015).

On 22 April Maxima Legal acted as a partner in a “Benua Breakfast”, a working breakfast on the subject of “Investment in Parks as a New Way of Life”. The event was held at Benua 1890, a cultural centre to the north of St. Petersburg. The speakers were landscape designers, architects, business managers from the entertainment industry and directors of public and private parks. Among the subjects discussed were the possibilities of developing park territories, taking as examples successful projects in Russia and abroad.

Representatives of the following park projects took part in the discussion: the “Petrovsky Arsenal” summer recreational project, Sokolniki Park, the “Oda! Eda!” festival, the Kirov Central Park of Culture and Relaxation on Elagin Island, the “Yarky Hostel & Space” creative area, Alexandrino Park, Murinsky Park and others.

Evgeny Druzhinin, Head of Maxima Legal’s Real Estate and Construction Department, spoke about the legal difficulties arising from the creation of public parks in general and in St. Petersburg in particular.

On 27 April the British Chambers & Partners rating agency published its annual Chambers Europe legal guide. Maxima Legal was rated as one of the leading firms in St. Petersburg in the practice of General Business Law.

On 6 April Evgeniy Druzhinin, Head of Maxima Legal’s Real Estate and Construction Department, appeared in the “Economic News” section of the “Nevskoye Utro” programme on 100TV to give his expert opinion on the adoption of the new Land Code: “A huge amount of subsidiary legislation has to be passed in order to make these laws work, and that takes time. Not all regions operate efficiently. In St. Petersburg the subsidiary legislation can be prepared in six weeks, but in the regions it may take six months or longer”.
